About the Jam

Welcome to the first official KimuraTrap Studios Game Jam! Developers will have 7 days to create a game using Unreal Engine 5 based on the theme. The theme will be revealed at the start of the jam and must be incorporated into the game. This is a great opportunity for developers of all skill levels to challenge themselves, learn new skills, and have fun creating something unique. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Teams will compete to build the most fun, creative, and polished experience before the deadline.

Theme and Requirements

• Duration: 1 Week (7 Days)
• Theme: To be revealed at the start of the jam at midnight on Day 0
• Engine: Unreal Engine 5 (C++ or Blueprints)
• Pre-made assets allowed but must be credited
• No pre-built gameplay systems or templates
• No AI-generated content
• Games will be checked for malware

Teams

Teams may consist of 1–3 developers.

Gameplay Requirements

• Win/Lose system required
• There will be an additional requirement for a unique mechanic added here when theme is announced!
• Main Menu with Start and Quit buttons
• Score or Time system with Local Leaderboard
• 5–15 minutes of gameplay
• Playable Windows build required

Submission

• Playable build submitted to itch.io site.

Judging Criteria

• Gameplay – Is the game fun?
• Creativity – Unique ideas
• Theme Use – How well the theme is used
• Visual Style – Art and presentation
• Polish – Stability and completeness

Each category scored 1–10 points.

Judges

Games will be judged by the players via Discord Poll!

Must be in the KimuraTrap Studios Discord Server to partake as a judge.

KimuraTrap Studios leadership may submit project(s) but will not be part of the competition!

Jam Schedule

• Day 0 – Theme revealed midnight EST of 3/22/26
• Day 1–7 – Development 3/23/26–3/29/26
• End of Day 7 – Submission deadline 11:59 PM EST on 3/29/26
• Days 8–10 – Judging on 3/30/26–4/1/26
• Day 11 – Winner announced on KTS Homepage and Social Media on 4/2/26
